MISSION & VISION
Mission
A commitment towards students and staff to:
- Acquire international, scientific, research–based, subject- and practice-oriented knowledge, and to develop pedagogical and psychosocial skills and attitudes
- Promote learning and teaching in an international context; work towards inclusive educational practices and a diverse, tolerant, emphatic and inclusive society
- Acquire intercultural and other international competencies in a rapidly changing world
- Enhance personal well-being (self-development and education towards critical citizenship) and social well-being (social cohesion and the strengthening of a democratic society
- Stimulate an international orientation in education, teacher education, and lifelong learning, and to set up transnational, innovative networks
- Embrace a decolonial perspective on knowledge and knowledge production, enabling the integration of diverse perspectives and viewpoints in science and education, and critically questioning our own forms of knowledge and culture and the ways in which we shape education
Vision
Based on its mission, the Teacher Education Network considers the following commitments towards students and staff as its core mandate:
- Sending and receiving students (study mobility and internships)
- Mobility and professional development of academic and administrative staff through conferences, training programmes, interuniversity initiatives, etc.
- Sustainable and environmentally responsible travel
- Strategic cooperation and network development with national and international partners (preferred partner institutions, association partners, and other stakeholders across different levels of education) in the fields of education, research, and social engagement
- Exploring and fully utilising Erasmus+ and other scholarship programmes
Priorities
For the 2025–2029 policy period, the Teacher Education Network has defined the following priorities:
- Strategic cooperation and network development with national and international partners in the fields of education, research, and social engagement
- Maintaining and further developing the Teacher Education Network (TEN) within and beyond Europe
- Facilitating and expanding international mobility for students and staff
- Sharing good practices with students, academic and administrative staff, and other relevant stakeholders
- Developing a diverse offer for incoming students and for internationalisation at home
