Short Description

At Utrecht University we see preparation for the teaching profession as a process that spans several years: from the initial bachelor’s programme to specific preparation for the teaching profession, teacher training, including, or following subject-specific education at master’s level. Since 2014, the five faculties that educate students for whom teaching is an option have jointly taken responsibility for this in an interfaculty graduate school for teacher training: the Graduate School of Teaching (GST). Secondary schools are our partners in this. We work with them and with Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in partnerships called “training schools”. In these partnerships, we focus not only on teacher training, but also on the further professional development of teachers.
